From now on you have access to your custom hatch pattern in the drop-down box within your “Area Hatch/Fill” command. Also included is a hatch pattern for chain link fence, and metal grate. For example instead of selecting a standard hatch pattern and changing its angle each time, you can edit your “sldwks.ptn” file and copy and paste the standard hatch pattern and then change the angle of that. Now if you open this file with notepad, it provides instruction in the header of the file on how to create your own custom hatch patterns. A file exists within the installation directory for the version of SOLIDWORKS you are using (C:\Program Files\SolidWorks Corp\SolidWorks\Lang\English) called “ sldwks.ptn” which is where the information for the available standard hatch patterns is stored and read from. I have a 13 month trial license for it I've yet to use. CAD hatch library, hundreds of FREE AutoCAD hatch patterns, the collection includes wood, brickwork,stone and stonework. But I'm not going to dish out 68 dollars for 43 varieties of flemish bond when I really only want concrete and wood grain.I'm thinking I might just install Autocad. I'm looking for more fills/styles in illustrator.I just figured there had to be something out there? I did find one pay program that just basically installed an fill presets folder. ![]()
